Crew

The crew members of Velvet Moon on this voyage were Dusan, Captain & Maja, First Mate.

The captain on Velvet Moon, Dusan Lazarevic, has about fifteen years of experience as a skipper and Maja Djordjevic has been sailing with him professionally for last seven years. They have been working together as crew on private and charter yachts. Dusan is a qualified Ocean Yachtmaster and Maja is powerboat and STCW95 licensed. They have excellent knowledge of Mediterranean to Caribbean cruising circuit and local languages and thanks to this trip Central America’s and Japanese Pacific coasts, but are always eager to explore the other seas and lands.

With their academic and artistic background, together they came up with the idea to make sailing creative and as a friend put it, to join the sea tribe. This means that in the same day you can see them sailing, fixing a part on the boat, diving around, sewing, making musical instruments with shells and other things and recording sounds. At the same time, all this will be traced and transformed into a stop motion movie, signed by their artistic name My Soul. You might never guess which one studied theatre and which one studied law, who began playing the piano at five and who the accordion at six, why do they take so many photos and make artistic concepts out of anything, who could have ever make them so passionate about the leather craft or which will be the next hilltop for them to climb.

Meanwhile, they are always there to make their guests feel safe, comfortable and smiling onboard and share their love for sailing.
